Céline Dion, Dior, and "Hymne à l'amour"

McCord-Stewart Museum Montreal

June 15, 2026

A visit to the McCord-Stewart Museum in Montreal today for an admirable guided tour of Montreal 1976 Olympics, concluded with a view of another current exhibition.

This smaller, more intimate exhibition focuses on the dress that Céline Dion wore for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, which was when she so memorably sang Édith Piaf's "Hymne à l'amour."

The dazzling gown was created specially for Dion by Dior's then artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri, but what thrilled me was Dion's breathtaking performance, which I wrote about here at the time.

From May 15 to September 7, 2026.
