Hania Rani at the Maison Symphonique
July 5, 2026
Saw an intense and gripping concert starring the Polish composer and pianist Hania Rani yesterday at the Maison Symphonique in Place des Arts as part of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal.
A great young artist performing her own compositions, one of which is "Non Fiction," her first piano concerto and symphonic piece, composed partially in response to the discovery in 2020 of the compositions of a young music prodigy, Josima Feldschuh, written during the horrors of World War II in the Warsaw Ghetto.
Moved by the girl's story, Rani chose to examine it through the lens of modern horrors.
